A few events in Lincoln this April...

Fulbeck Gardens Cottage is situated just 16 miles away from the historic city of Lincoln.

Lincoln Castle is situated within Lincoln's historic Cathedral Quarter and 2015 signals the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta. Early April saw the grand re-opening of Lincoln Castle after a £22m investment as part of the Lincoln Castle Revealed project. The Castle continues to celebrate this historic anniversary and its next big event is its St Georges Festival, a celebration of all things medieval where kids can see St George do battle with the dragon, and a medieval pageant will be performed by re-enactors in medieval costume. Children can also attend Chivalry School and learn about the St George and the knights chivalric code.

Just across from the Castle is the majestic Lincoln Cathedral, on 17th April the Cathedral hosts the Spark Engineering Festival where visitors can get 'hands on' with the latest in local technology. On the 21st April violinist Aylen Pritchin will give a lunchtime concert in the Chapter House. The Cathedral also continues to celebrate the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta with a series of events and on 22nd April the Cathedral will host a dinner and talk by the former Private Secretary to HM The Queen, Lord Robin Janvrin.

Lincoln has two universities and the Cottage would make an ideal base for families planning to visit Lincoln for this summer's graduation ceremonies, allowing guests to relax in quiet pleasant surroundings whilst also being within easy reach of Lincoln. On 23rd April, Bishop Grosseteste University (18 miles away) is advertising an Evening with Queen Boudicca and TV wildlife personality Chris Packham is giving a lecture at Lincoln University (16 miles away) on 14th April.
